Yet another century-plus field (103) who took on a ‟quite-a-bit-easier‟ Cape Schanck than in past events there, with a CCR of 68.
The weather was kind to all, although a light breeze did come up around lunch time. However the course — as usual — was in top shape, even though some fairways appeared a little "low‟, as the couch is now at its dormant stage !! Outstanding performer and “A” Grade win-ner of the day was Rosebud's Nick Sayle, who finished with an excellent 44 points off his handicap of nine. A superb striker of the ball, this was Nick's first win since joining the Vets. He just defeated Portsea's Pat Amos (10) who scored 42 points.

Devilbender Kevin Etherton (7) had a fairly good day too, scoring a fine Eagle on the long, par-five 2nd, as well as winning the searest-the-pin on the 7th.
Another “Bender” in Bill McGennisken (25) was the “B” Grade winner with a Voucher as his reward, with a score of 40 points, a shot better than Mornington “leftie” Pat Wech (26). Because this was the Third Round of the Association's Championships when the maxi-mum handicap was 27, at least two members had to have their “club” handicaps revised AFTER they came in at the close of their game. The event at Moonah Links (4BBB) is one that many are looking forward to and once again we hope for yet another fine and wind-less day!!!

Please “Do the right thing” and you may miss being listed in Ian’s “The Little Black Book”!!!
Some time ago now we an-nounced here that Captain Ian Purchase has a “Little Black Book” in which he enters the names of players who continually fail to ring him if they cannot play . . . in other words, what we call “NO SHOWS”. But it’s still happening !!
Ian does have a L.B.B. . . . and intends using it when making up his “sheets” for all future events, but he prefers to encourage members to please “do the right thing and ring me!
